Cara, a friend of mine, posted (in part) on Facebook the following: “Dear summertime moms. There’s a lot of magic happening around Facebook these days. Perhaps your kids live in a perpetual state of fighting. When you try to leave them for 5 seconds, they play with saws, drills and matches. You can’t have a summer bucket list. Why? Because your kids hate reading and you think it’s your fault.” I love what she closed with, though. “There are new mercies for more ‘real-life’ tomorrow. So, rock that ‘real-life’ like a boss and enjoy the wild, imperfect ride for all it’s worth.” What’s the lesson? Loving well through the imperfect, envious, and sometimes discouraging days will ultimately point our kids to the Savior.
“I want magic this summer for my family.” Not this year!
